Privacy Policy

The following policies govern how my personal website peterbenz.de handles personal information; they apply across the entire website. When I speak of “I”, “me” or “peterbenz.de” anywhere in these terms, I in effect mean myself and the people who help me with preparation, production and dissemination of peterbenz.de. Whenever in the following I speak of “policy” I’m referring to this Privacy Policy.

What personal data I collect and why I collect it

While you visit peterbenz.de, certain (limited) personal information about you is collected to operate, provide, improve, understand, customize and support my services.

As this is a personal website for information on my professional, academic and sometimes personal pursuits, I do not allow any direct interaction, i.e. you may not leave comments or upload any materials. This implies that you won’t have opportunities to actually directly “give” me any personal information.

However, my servers will automatically log certain information every time you access the website, such as the pages you visit, time spent on individual pages or posts, etc.

Additionally, I will be using certain tracking technologies such as cookies, web beacons and other web analytics software or services that may also collect some general, usually anonymous information from you.

How do I use personal information?

I may use your personal information to:

– operate peterbenz.de and provide you with my services;
– customise my services and pages to provide a more personalised experience;
– carry out technical analysis to determine how to improve peterbenz.de and the services I provide;

We use a network of global subcontractors and service providers in order to ensure that we maintain the best possible service standards. Some of the subcontractors and service providers to whom we may disclose your personal information, like service providers who provide us with cloud servers, are based outside Hong Kong (in places like Asia, Europe, and the US). In order to protect your information, I take care where possible to work with subcontractors and service providers who I believe maintain an acceptable standard of data security compliance.

As I don’t collect any personal information through my website, I also do not store any personal information whatsoever.

How can you access your personal information?

As we don’t collect or store any personal information, we may also not grant access to any such information.
